It is a non-governmental organization dedicated to humanitarian aid and development which works in the health field and specialises in the distribution of essential drugs for countries in need. Founded in 1991, it has more than 6,000 members all over Spain. The organization has a registered office located in Alfafar, Spain. It is the leading organization in Spain, specialised in administering pharmaceutical aid to humanitarian organizations and developing countries. In April 2001, the organization was recognised by Spanish government as Association of Public Interest. During the last seven years, it has either donated or supplied more than 500 TM of medicine which has been sent to more than 80 countries around the world, either directly by the organization or in collaboration with more than 500 organizations undertaking humanitarian projects. Since the year 2000, the organization has ceased sending medicine recovered in pharmacies and only deals with essential drugs and sanitary products delivered in the most appropriate packaging for humanitarian aid projects which it either donates to the beneficiaries of its projects, or it distributes at cost price to other non lucrative organizations.
